I caught the fever!
Woody of United Rock ran in the 5k and right after the race he wanted to know when our next marathon was going to be. This is exactly the kind of reaction we were hopeing to get when the Sully-Miller Running Team started. To not only motivate people to run/walk and make it a part of their exercise routine but to also want them to have a passion to do it. Anyone can run but it takes a lot more to want to train for a marathon. So until then Woody will be training and making sure he doesn't miss the next marathon event.
First Official Marathon Event
It was a beautiful March Sunday morning, there were not a single cloud in the sky. People were excited to be there and it showed in their excitement before, during and after the race. A saying was going around that day; The LA Marathon is a family race and it was evidents throughout the whole marathon. People of different culture, abilities, and age came out to participate and to cheer. Although the location itself was a poor choice for a race of that size, overall it was still a great day for those that participated and the cheering crowds. A lot of first time marathon participate caught the running fever and are looking forward to their next marathon event. Below are some pictures of the day's event. Please feel free to add your comment and what you thought of the marathon and the whole experience.
